Terms of Service
Last updated September 7, 2026 · version 2026-09-07
These Terms of Service are between you and Crux Labs, the company that runs RiserSheet. By creating an account, using RiserSheet, or accepting these terms in the app, you agree to them for yourself and for the firm you represent.
PLACEHOLDER: this text is a working draft. It states the liability position accurately and is safe to ship behind the acceptance gate, but it has not been reviewed by counsel. Replace before public launch.
Designer of record
The designer of record is responsible for the inputs, the code edition selected, and field verification. RiserSheet performs the arithmetic. It does not select sprinklers, decide head spacing, choose a design area, verify a water supply, or accept a system on your behalf.
You are responsible for checking every input and every result before you seal, submit, or rely on a calculation. A calculation that passes in RiserSheet is not an approval, a certification, or a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional.
The same statement is printed on every report RiserSheet generates, so a plan reviewer reads it alongside the numbers.
- You choose the water supply data, the design criterion, the hazard, the pipe and fitting data, and the code edition.
- You are responsible for verifying that the reference data RiserSheet ships matches the edition your authority having jurisdiction enforces.
- You are responsible for field verification of anything the calculation assumes.
What RiserSheet is
RiserSheet is hydraulic calculation software for fire sprinkler designers. It solves a pipe network you enter, compares demand against a water supply, and produces a report formatted for a plan reviewer.
It is not drawing software. It does not place sprinklers, generate layouts, import or export CAD files, or check spacing, coverage, or obstruction rules.
Reference data and verification
RiserSheet ships pipe dimensions, C-factors, fitting equivalent lengths, sprinkler K-factors, hazard curves, and hose allowances transcribed from published sources. Each record carries the edition and table it came from and a verification status.
While any record used by a calculation is unverified, the report prints a PRELIMINARY banner and the workspace shows a warning. Do not submit a preliminary report as a final calculation.
Accounts and organizations
An organization owns its projects. Users belong to the organization, and an owner controls who has access. If you invite someone, you are responsible for that person's access and for removing it when it is no longer appropriate.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
Your data
You keep ownership of the projects, networks, supplies, and reports you put into RiserSheet. You give us a limited license to host, process, copy, back up, display, and transmit that content as needed to run the service, support your account, and comply with law.
RiserSheet keeps an immutable copy of every generated report together with the inputs and the solver result that produced it, so a report can always be traced back to the numbers behind it.
Plans, trials, and billing
New organizations get a 14-day trial with every feature enabled and no card. At the end of the trial the organization becomes read only. Projects are never deleted. Subscribing restores editing. Buying a single report restores editing for that remote area and one report.
Subscriptions are billed per designer seat, monthly or annually, through Stripe. Reviewer seats are free. Billable seats are owner and designer memberships; changing membership changes the seat count on the next sync.
Sales tax is calculated and collected through Stripe Tax where it applies.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep RiserSheet available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. When a change affects stored calculations, the solver version is recorded on each stored result so an old report stays reproducible.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
RiserSheet is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that a calculation will be accepted by any authority having jurisdiction.
To the extent the law allows, Crux Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services. Our total liability for any claim relating to RiserSheet is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using RiserSheet at any time and cancel through the billing portal. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms. You can export your reports before you leave.
